Which factors affect textile UV transmittance rate?
Textile UV transmittance rate depend on many factors, such as fabric’s organization/cover coefficient/color, add additive on craft treatment and sample treatment etc:
1) Textile’s organization: thick knitted or woven fabric ‘UV transmittance rate will be lower. The same textile organization, UV protective perspective will increase with textile’s thick and quality, basically it depends on textile’s cover coefficient.
2) Textile fiber’s species: different textile itself has different UV absorption character. Cotton and mucilage glue textile UV transmittance rate higher, blench cotton textile have more greater transmittance rate. Silk textile, wool fabric have higher UV absorption ability. Polyester have aramid organization, having higher UV absorption ability. They have delustering agent, easier absorb UV. Nylon fiber is easy to transmit UV radiation.
3) Textile ‘s color and color’s depth: many dyestuff have absorb UV. Generally speaking, dark color textile have more greater protective ability. Black and dark blue textile having lower UV transmittance rate.
4) After treatment: though UV treatment fabric, after repetitive scrubbing, it will be affected it’s anti-UV ability. Non-treatment of UV garment, which will promote it’s anti-uv ability after shrinking.
5) Moisture content: wet clothing and dry clothing having lower UV transmittance rate.
