The standards of Anti-UV textile

The anti-UV of clothing mainly depends on the UV effect of the outer fabric, the color, the thickness and density of fabric are the three basic factors that affect Anti UV feature. The fabric that darker color and more thicker and more dense, the Anti UV affect more better. In the production, apply other technical and finishing also can improve UV property of textile, regular anti UV clothing all mark the UPF value on the label, UPF value can show the UV intensity of fabric, the bigger the UPF value, the better the anti UV property.

 

Some countries and regions have launched the testing method and certification of anti UV fabric, i.e. Australia and New Zealand (AS/NZS 4399:1996), US (AATCC183:1998), UK(BS7914:1998), China (GB/T 18830), Europe (EN 13758-1), these standards are all tested on new fabric that no stretch and dry, International Testing Association for Applied UV Protection also published UV Standard 801, this testing is carried out on the sample are stretched and wet, and with the strongest UV and on the most sensitive skin types. Compared with the above standards, UV 801 is widely suitable for many product type, the results can more show the textile working state.

 

After the fabric and garment get UV standard 801 certificated, can be able to authorized the specified tags. The consumers can easily identify the real uv protection ability of products by this logo.
